2-0-1-3… A brand new year brings out the geek in me. My life is one big virtual list. I have lists for my lists. So a New Year is a list makers dream! A blank slate for the world. Suddenly my lists must be grander. My intentions must be nobler. My resolutions must be absolute. But as much as I love lists and as satisfying as it is to cross off another “Mission Accomplished”, this year will be slightly different.
The lists ain’t goin’ no where! I will set goals and do my darn-dest to make sure they are achieved. That’s 365. But, if I had to give 2013 a theme – it’d be LOVE. Yep, love. It’s the year I return text messages and phone calls faster than a speeding bullet. Its the year I say yes to spending time with the folks and activities I love the most. It’s the year I agree to that blind date my well meaning friends are dying to set me up on. 2013 is the year I listen to my heart as God whispers words of encouragement and instruction. This is the year that I go for my daily run, not cause I have to stay in my size 4 jeans, but because I love it. I really do.
I know, I know – but resolutions were made to be broken, right? God I sure hope not. This resolution is worth sticking to. Happy Happy Happy Happy New Year. I’m grinning from ear to ear! Can’t wait!
